About IT Supports
Our IT team provides comprehensive services to Sturgeon Lake Central School and Education Alliance partner schools as well as many of Sturgeon Lake First Nation Band programs. We cover soft services such as domain and website management, email, Microsoft apps (word, excel, outlook, onedrive, sharepoint), google classroom. As well as sourcing and servicing hardware from network infrastructure like servers, paging systems, sound systems, security, and wifi, to end-user devices like laptops, smart boards, chromebooks, cell phones, and ipads. We also support printing and faxing services, firewalls and network security, and antivirus.
We have been involved in a number of new construction projects to ensure that the network and tech needs are met.
Our Staff
- Damanpreet Singh has been working in IT since June 2022. He focuses on IT support, user management, and IT equipment, ensuring smooth technical operations.
He has experience with the Microsoft and google suite of apps allowing him to manage cloud infrastructure and users effectively. Damanpreet holds CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, highlighting his skills in hardware, networking, and IT security.Dedicated to providing reliable IT solutions, Damanpreet uses his technical skills and problem-solving abilities to improve systems and support operations. - Chey Gardipy has been working in IT since 2008 and joined our team in 2023. As a team member, he primarily supports the school and various branches at Sturgeon Lake First Nation, ensuring that students, educators, and staff have reliable access to the technology they need. In addition to his work at Sturgeon Lake FN, Chey also provides IT support to schools in other bands, helping maintain and improve their technology infrastructure.
With extensive experience in troubleshooting, network management, and system maintenance, he works closely with his team to deliver practical and effective technology solutions.Chey understands the unique technology needs of educational and community-based environments and is committed to ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvements. He values teamwork and collaboration, helping to maintain a strong and reliable IT infrastructure for those who depend on it. - Doug Howland joined Sturgeon Lake Education Alliance in 2021 as IT Coordinator, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in First Nations education IT. Since then, he has expanded the IT team and enhanced the services provided, ensuring greater security, reliability, and efficiency.
Doug oversees new build projects, network infrastructure, and technology improvements within the community while also identifying cost-saving opportunities. His work continues to elevate the role of technology in education, supporting a stronger and more connected learning environment.
