These two are the reason I celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day!

They were both trailblazers of their time, my Kukom, Carole Sanderson, had a huge impact in First Nations Education and my Grandpa, Sol Sanderson, has spent his entire life fighting for First Nations Governance and Sovereignty. As a father, it is my responsibility to pass down my culture, values and beliefs to my children and to teach them about their past and to embrace the future.
